HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED IN THIS COURSE?
Learning is an individual pursuit. Moreover, the way an individual learns can vary widely. Accordingly, there is no formal assessment in this course. This is because many of the assignments are designed to make you critically think about some specific topic area or to take action on a specific topic.
Following the submission of your assignments you will be given constructive feedback by one of our qualified assessors. This form of feedback is important in order to help you think more critically about your work, and at same time, helping you to engage and enhance your learning capacity.
WILL THERE BE SUPPORT THROUGHOUT THE DURATION OF THE COURSE?
Of course! You have administrative support at the Functional Nutrition Academy team during business hours (AEST).
We provide monthly webinars with either Cyndi O’Meara or another expert in the field. These are mostly live webinars so you can type your questions and have them answered by the speaker on the night.
Within the Education Portal we have a forum where we encourage students to post course related questions to start discussions with other students. From time to time, coordinators and students may post a series of questions to allow the group to interact and think beyond the course material. Students also have the option to start a discussion introducing themselves to their peers.
We also have a private Facebook group for students, which we have found is a great support for students. Here, students can pose non-course related questions, and also start networking with students within their local communities.
The course content includes a mix of lesson reading, additional readings and videos. As we work through the course, if it is identified that further clarification is required on particular topics, then additional videos may be provided by either Cyndi O’Meara or Dr Steve Myers.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO SIGN UP TO ONE SPECIFIC MODULE WITHIN THE COURSE?
IS THE FUNCTIONAL NUTRITION COURSE ACCREDITED?
The Functional Nutrition Course is accredited through the International Accreditation and Recognition Council (IARC). IARC accreditation means that the course has been specifically assessed against the IARC quality criteria in the areas of course delivery, assessment, content and administration. In general terms, accreditation gives students satisfaction that a framework for excellence in education exists.
However, the Functional Nutrition Course is not an Australian VET accredited course. At this stage Functional Nutrition Academy has decided against accrediting the course through this avenue.

DOES THE FUNCTIONAL NUTRITION ACADEMY HOST ANY LIVE EVENTS OR TRAINING FOR EDUCATION?
Yes! Each year we will be hosting Module 13, which is a ‘Weekend with Cyndi’ on the Sunshine Coast in Australia. This event is provided for free, and includes business ideas as well as study tips. This is a great opportunity to meet and network with other students, and we will also host a graduation ceremony to celebrate those students who have finished the course.
Each year we will be offering further education opportunities, with yearly seminars and also post graduate courses offered. This year, the seminar was held in Melbourne in July, and you will find details of next years’ event on the website soon.
