The Introduction to Nutrition course simplifies the fundamentals of health and nutrition. You will develop a holistic relationship with food and your health; rather than following a rigid regime of asking ’what to eat, how often should I eat and how many calories are in that?’.
Each week you will learn and implement new skills allowing you to make sustainable changes in your health and diet. This will enable you to make informed decisions on what to eat, empowering you to influence and educate those around you in a positive way.

OVERALL AIMS OF THE COURSE
Provide you with an introduction to nutrition and an insight into the vitalistic philosophy to health. You will develop a holistic relationship with food and your health; rather than following rigid diets.

Understand the power of ‘decluttering’ your kitchen and pantry. Learn what foods to keep and which ones to find alternatives for. Become organized and ready for meal preparation in your kitchen.
MODULE 3 – FOOD CHEMICALS AND WEIGHT GAIN
Every day we’re exposed to chemicals throughout our lives. Understand how to decrease the chemical load within your body.
MODULE 4 – SUGAR – HOW TO GET THE RIGHT BALANCE FOR HEALTH
Understand why avoiding harmful foods and chemicals is vital for great health, rather than just focusing on ‘avoiding sugar’. Learn why ‘calorie in, calorie out’ is a myth and how it’s important to focus on the quality and type of foods you eat, to maintain ultimate health and your ideal weight.
MODULE 5 – HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT PROTEIN FOR YOUR LIFESTYLE
Understand the best protein source for your body type and beliefs.
MODULE 6 – FATS - THE GOOD, BAD AND THE UGLY
Learn about the different fats, their importance in your diet and their effect on the human body. Understand the significance of cholesterol in ‘modern’ eating, the use of statin medications and how they affect the body in more ways than just reducing the blood cholesterol count.
MODULE 7 – FOOD, MOOD, MIND CONNECTION
Understand the interdependence and connection of the body, mind and gut, and the effect different foods have on your body.
MODULE 8 – CONNECTING HEALTH ISSUES WITH THE GUT
In this module we build on the previous one and delve deeper into understanding more about the gut, how to avoid compromising the health of your gut and how to restore it back to optimal health.
MODULE 9 – IMPACT OF GMO FOODS ON HEALTH
Learn all about the harmful and damaging effects of Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) foods have not only on the body but also to our environment.
MODULE 10 – HOW SUPPLEMENTS AND MEDICATIONS IMPACT ON THE BODY
Understand how supplements and medications affect your body, and if they are treating the symptom they are addressing or are they getting to the root cause.
